Uttar Pradesh Approves 69.52‑Acre Robotics and AI Park in Greater Noida
By Ravi Hari

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet approved on Tuesday, October 27, the creation of a 69.52‑acre robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) park in Greater Noida. The park, named PRAGATI (Robotics and AI Growth Through Technology and Innovation), is expected to generate more than 100,000 direct and indirect jobs and add about ₹2,000 crore annually to the state’s economy when fully operational.
Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna explained that the park will promote indigenous robotics manufacturing, accelerate AI‑based technology development, and attract investment and research. The project will be split into two zones with different investment and ownership structures. An eight‑acre zone will be developed under a public‑private partnership (PPP) model through a special purpose vehicle (SPV). The Greater Noida Authority will hold a 26% equity stake, and the selected industrial partner will own the remaining 74%. The second zone, covering 61.52 acres, will be developed by private enterprises and will not require capital liability from the state government.
For the first zone, the Greater Noida Authority will contribute ₹21.1 crore in equity, and the state government will provide an interest‑free loan of ₹126.2 crore for 30 years, totaling ₹147.3 crore. The lease premium for the eight‑acre plot will be reimbursed to the Greater Noida Authority through the state government’s IT and Electronics Department. The SPV will receive a service charge of 5% of revenue from development charges on land allotments in the second zone, plus applicable GST.
The industrial partner will be selected through a quality‑based process. Subsequent steps include registering the SPV, allotting land, executing the lease deed, and beginning construction. Commercial operations in the first zone are targeted to start within 36 months of SPV registration, with a possible extension to 48 months. A committee will monitor progress.
The park will provide shared infrastructure and specialised facilities such as robotics testing and certification centres, rapid prototyping, AI computing infrastructure, motion‑capture systems, and data laboratories. Startups and entrepreneurs will have access to advanced testing, prototyping, and GPU‑based computing at affordable rates, and the park will help companies test robotics products against global standards and obtain certifications like CE and UL.
At full scale, PRAGATI Park is projected to create over 100,000 jobs and contribute about ₹2,000 crore annually in gross value added to Uttar Pradesh’s economy. These figures are projections for the park at full scale and not confirmed outcomes from an operational facility. (With PTI inputs)
