Mahindra praises Gangavaram Beach’s rugged beauty, notes irony of tech boom
By Akriti Anand

Anand Mahindra, chairman of the Mahindra Group, posted on X on Sunday, October 25, expressing his admiration for the “raw beauty” of Gangavaram Beach near Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. He questioned why the site is not among India’s most talked‑about coastal landscapes and highlighted that the beach does not fit the conventional image of a tropical shore. The images he shared, taken by India Aesthetica, show towering rocky cliffs and a rugged, almost prehistoric scenery rather than rows of swaying coconut palms.
Mahindra said the beach’s natural allure invites not only relaxation but also reflection. He added an “interesting irony” noting that while world technology giants are arriving in Visakhapatnam to build hyperscale data centres and AI infrastructure, the region’s natural landscape has been “hyperscaling” for millions of years. He believes Vizag is on its way to becoming a major technology hub and could also become one of India’s most sought‑after coastal leisure destinations, pointing to “more than one kind of spectacular growth story unfolding in Vizag.”
