Before joining The Indian Express, she worked as a reporter for The Times of India.
Her reporting portfolio spans high-stakes crime, national security, prison reforms, and traffic governance. She has covered major events including the 2G spectrum case, the 2020 North-East Delhi riots, and communal clashes in Uttar Pradesh cities such as Kasganj and Aligarh. On December 4, she reported that Delhi Police had submitted a list of owners of vehicles damaged in the blast to the Finance Ministry to speed up insurance claims for affected residents.
Chand also covered several crime and police accountability stories. In December 2025, she reported on a criminal syndicate that had been blackmailing traffic police officers; following five arrests connected to the case, the Special Commissioner of Police instructed officers to report any similar extortion attempts. On May 19, 2025, she covered the arrest of five Delhi Police personnel by the Vigilance branch, which followed numerous public complaints.
