Two Individuals Arrested for Alleged Examination Cheating After CISF Finds Bluetooth Devices at Dabolim Airport
By PTI

Two men were booked by local police for examination malpractice related to an IIT Goa employee recruitment test after Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel discovered Bluetooth earpieces and other electronic devices in their hand baggage at Dabolim airport. The first passenger, traveling to Delhi on an Air India Express flight, was undergoing security checks when a CISF screener noticed suspicious items. A physical search revealed three electronic devices, two SIM cards and three Bluetooth earpieces. The passenger admitted that the devices were intended for cheating in competitive examinations and informed security that an associate had already boarded the flight. The second passenger was removed from the flight with airline staff assistance; his hand baggage contained two Bluetooth earpieces, a SIM card and an admit card for the Administrative Assistant post in the IIT Goa non‑teaching staff recruitment exam held on October 10. He also admitted that the Bluetooth device was meant for use in that examination. Both men were jointly interrogated by intelligence and security agencies and then handed over to the Dabolim airport police station. Since the exam centre falls under the jurisdiction of the Ponda police station, the two were booked by that police force. The first passenger also claimed he had appeared in the exam in place of another candidate and that he had discarded the Aadhaar cards of two other individuals in the security hold area of the airport. The CISF officer credited the alertness of the screening personnel for detecting the devices and preventing the passengers from leaving Goa with material linked to the alleged examination malpractice.
