KMF to Open 120 New Nandini Parlours in Bengaluru, Including 30 Near Metro Stations

The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) plans to open 120 new Nandini dairy parlours in Bengaluru. Thirty of the outlets will be located outside metro stations after receiving permission from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL). The remaining ninety parlours will be established within the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) limits, though final locations are still to be decided. The expansion follows the controversy over Amul kiosks at Bengaluru Metro stations in June 2025, which drew opposition from Kannada activists, KMF, dairy farmers and the Janata Dal (Secular). KMF has stated that it will not set up kiosks inside metro premises under the current arrangement. The new parlours aim to make Nandini products such as milk, paneer, ice cream, sweets and beverages more accessible at high‑footfall locations, including near public transport hubs and civic spaces. Karnataka currently operates more than 3,000 Nandini parlours, with about 1,500 in Bengaluru. The planned 120 outlets are expected to broaden Nandini’s reach in the city and provide consumers with convenient access to everyday dairy products.
