Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra confirmed they are expecting their second child. The couple posted the news on Instagram on October 7, sharing a photo of their daughter Saraayah with the caption, “Blessed once again with the greatest gift of all. Our hearts are so full of love and gratitude.” The announcement follows the birth of their first daughter, Saraayah, in July 2025.

Advani has previously spoken about how becoming a mother changed her. In a conversation with Raj Shamani, she described the emotional adjustment and the new sense of purpose that came with parenthood. She said, “I feel, before becoming a mum and after becoming a mum, I am a completely different person. In every way. I have also come to terms with it now.” She added that motherhood altered how she views her choices, noting she now considers the example she sets for her daughter: “I want to lead by example for my daughter. What would my daughter feel? How would she feel if I did this?”

She also highlighted the need for more discussion about the postpartum period, calling it an “identity shift.” Advani said adjusting to the new reality takes time, noting it has taken her six months and that she repeatedly reminds herself to “just give yourself grace.” She warned that the pressure to return to normal quickly can make the period even more overwhelming.

Beyond caring for her child, Advani said motherhood taught her to maintain a relationship with herself. She reflected that she had forgotten the importance of self‑talk and that she has learned to set boundaries, be less critical of herself, and avoid focusing on fear. These lessons, she said, remain relevant as she enters another chapter of parenthood.

Advani’s comments suggest that parenting involves more than adjusting life around a child; it also means understanding oneself differently, accepting that change takes time, and recognizing self‑care as part of caring for the family.
