Speaking at the World Hindu Economic Forum 2025<\/strong>, Goyal outlined the strategic moves made by the government to boost India’s economic transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
During his address, Goyal highlighted that the country\u2019s reform-driven governance model<\/strong> has laid a solid foundation for long-term economic growth<\/strong>. He pointed out that India\u2019s economic rise is not just about expanding GDP but also about fostering confidence, value-driven leadership<\/strong>, and global engagement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Minister also referred to India’s civilizational ethos<\/strong> and the guiding principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam<\/strong>\u2014the concept of the world being one family. Strengthening Export Base and Strategic Partnerships<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Goyal also emphasized that India\u2019s export base<\/strong> continues to strengthen, not just through innovation<\/strong> and diversification<\/strong> but also with strategic trade reforms<\/strong>. Despite the ongoing global uncertainties<\/strong>, including geopolitical tensions<\/strong> and challenges posed by tariff-related disputes<\/strong>, especially with the US, India\u2019s exports have continued to grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He noted that India\u2019s efforts to increase high-value exports<\/strong> and expand its global partnerships<\/strong> have been crucial in maintaining a balanced trade trajectory<\/strong> amid global economic headwinds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Free Trade Agreements and Future Trade Stability<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
India has also been actively pursuing free trade agreements (FTAs)<\/strong> to ensure long-term trade stability. One of the key agreements is the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA)<\/strong> with Oman<\/strong>, which Goyal said would bolster exports<\/strong> and enhance competitiveness<\/strong>. Negotiations with other countries are also ongoing, with the aim to diversify exports<\/strong> and strengthen India\u2019s position in the global market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Declining Trade Deficit and Growth in Exports<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
According to the latest Commerce Ministry data<\/strong>, India\u2019s exports<\/strong> surged by 15.52%<\/strong> in November 2025<\/strong>, reaching $73.99 billion<\/strong> compared to $64.05 billion<\/strong> during the same month last year. This growth has contributed to a significant narrowing of the trade deficit<\/strong>, which fell by more than 61%<\/strong>, from $17.06 billion<\/strong> to $6.64 billion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The growth was driven by strong demand from key trading partners<\/strong> across various sectors, including merchandise<\/strong> and services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
