Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis<\/strong> has firmly put to rest speculation about leadership changes within the BJP ahead of the 2029 Lok Sabha elections<\/strong>, making it clear that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will continue under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the \u201cUnstoppable Maharashtra\u201d<\/em> conclave organised by NDTV Marathi Manch<\/strong> in Mumbai, Fadnavis said there was no reason to consider any alternative leadership<\/strong> as long as Prime Minister Modi remains fit and active.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere is absolutely no need to think of anyone else,\u201d Fadnavis said, responding to questions about whether he could one day succeed PM Modi. \u201cHe is physically and mentally extremely fit and works harder than people much younger than him.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Praise for PM Modi\u2019s Work Ethic<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Fadnavis went on to highlight the Prime Minister\u2019s discipline and work routine, saying Modi puts in more than 17 hours of work every day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe works longer hours than most 40-year-olds and remains fully focused throughout meetings,\u201d the Maharashtra Chief Minister said. \u201cAs long as he continues in this form, he will remain our leader \u2014 including in 2029.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Response to Congress Leader\u2019s Remark<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Fadnavis\u2019s comments came as a direct response to a recent statement by Congress leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan<\/strong>, which had stirred political debate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At a press conference last week, Chavan referred to political developments in the United States and suggested that global events could have ripple effects on Indian politics. In that context, he hinted at the possibility of a \u201cMarathi Prime Minister\u201d<\/strong> emerging in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The remark gained attention largely because Devendra Fadnavis is often mentioned in political discussions as a prominent national leader from Maharashtra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Fadnavis made it clear that such speculation was unnecessary and misplaced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
