Candidates who completed their Centralised Admission Process registration and document verification can now check their final merit status through the official engineering admission portal at fe2026.mahacet.org. The final merit list contains key information such as the candidate’s name, application details, MHT CET percentile, Maharashtra State merit rank, category rank, candidature type, eligibility status and other admission-related details. All India candidates may also receive their ranking based on JEE Main scores wherever applicable. Separate merit lists have been published for Maharashtra State candidates, All India candidates, Jammu and Kashmir candidates and Defence-category applicants, including lists applicable to PCM candidates and certain Schedule IV courses. To check their individual merit status, candidates must visit the official portal, select the “Check Final Merit List Status” option, enter the required credentials such as their application number and date of birth, and submit the details to view and download their rank information. Students should carefully verify their name, category, home-university status, candidature type, reservation details and final rank before proceeding with counselling, because incorrect information may affect seat allocation or admission eligibility. The CET Cell has also published the provisional category-wise seat matrix for CAP Round 1, showing the number of seats available across participating engineering institutions, branches, categories and admission quotas. Following the publication of the final merit list, candidates must submit and confirm their option form by selecting colleges and engineering branches in order of preference. Seat allotment will be based on the candidate’s final merit rank, category, submitted preferences and the availability of seats. Candidates should research college accreditation, branch options, previous-year cut-offs, placement performance, fees, location, hostel facilities and academic resources before locking their choices. Filling only a small number of options may reduce the chances of receiving a seat, while entering a wider range of suitable college-and-branch combinations can improve allotment possibilities. Once the provisional CAP Round 1 allotment is declared, candidates receiving a seat will be required to accept or confirm the allotment and complete the prescribed reporting process within the announced period. Candidates who do not receive their preferred seat may be able to participate in subsequent CAP rounds, subject to the applicable rules and option-form instructions. The release of the final merit list does not itself guarantee admission; it determines the order in which eligible candidates will be considered during the counselling and seat-allocation process. Students should rely only on the official Maharashtra CET Cell and engineering admission portals for merit lists, choice-filling links, allotment results and schedule updates, and should avoid sharing login credentials with unofficial websites or admission agents.

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has released the MHT CET 2026 final merit list for admission to first-year BE and BTech programmes for the 2026–27 academic session, marking the beginning of the next important stage in Maharashtra’s engineering admission process.
