The teaser campaign uses playful visuals and unusual shape transformations to suggest that Samsung’s next foldable may move away from the tall, narrow book-style design seen in earlier Fold models and adopt a broader, more passport-like form factor. While Samsung has not officially confirmed the final name or full specifications, multiple reports suggest the upcoming lineup could include the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip 8. The biggest attention is on the wider Fold model, which is expected to offer a more natural cover-screen experience and a squarer inner display when opened, making it potentially better suited for reading, multitasking, browsing, gaming and productivity. Leaked specifications indicate that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 could feature a 7.6-inch foldable display, a 5.5-inch cover display, Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels with 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, 12GB RAM, up to 1TB storage, dual 50MP rear cameras, 10MP selfie cameras and a 4,800mAh battery. The device is also rumoured to be thinner and lighter than many earlier foldables, with reports suggesting a folded thickness of around 9.7mm and a weight close to 200g. If accurate, this would show Samsung trying to make foldables feel more practical for everyday use rather than just futuristic or premium. The wider design may also be Samsung’s answer to growing competition in the foldable market, especially as Apple is widely rumoured to be preparing its own foldable iPhone. However, since most specifications are still based on leaks, buyers will need to wait for Samsung’s official launch to know the final design, pricing, availability and feature upgrades. For now, the teaser has successfully created curiosity around whether the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be a true redesign or just a fresh shape experiment in Samsung’s foldable journey.

Samsung appears ready to shake up its foldable smartphone lineup again, with fresh teasers pointing toward a wider Galaxy Z Fold 8 design ahead of the company’s expected July Galaxy Unpacked event.
