Tata Motors has brought back one of India\u2019s most iconic SUV names with the launch of the Tata Sierra EV, marking a major addition to the company\u2019s growing electric vehicle portfolio. Priced from \u20b918.79 lakh ex-showroom, the Sierra EV arrives as a modern electric SUV that blends nostalgia with future-ready design, advanced technology and long-distance usability. The SUV is offered with 63 kWh and 75 kWh battery pack options, with the larger battery delivering a claimed MIDC range of up to 665 km on a single charge, while the lower battery option is aimed at buyers looking for a more accessible entry point into the Sierra EV lineup. Design-wise, the electric Sierra keeps the upright and distinctive silhouette associated with the original Sierra name but adds EV-specific styling touches such as a closed-off front grille, restyled bumper, aerodynamic 18-inch alloy wheels and a cleaner futuristic profile. Inside, the SUV gets a screen-heavy cabin with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch passenger display, giving the cabin a premium and connected feel. Tata has also equipped the Sierra EV with features such as wireless charging, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, rear sunblinds, dual-zone climate control, powered tailgate, head-up display, air purifier, e-valet autonomous parking and a 12-speaker JBL sound system with Dolby Atmos support through Apple CarPlay. On the safety front, the SUV comes with Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, ESP and a 540-degree camera, making it one of the more feature-rich EVs in its segment. The powertrain setup includes rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive-style QWD variants, with the dual-motor version producing strong torque and offering multiple drive modes for different conditions. Fast charging support is another major highlight, with Tata claiming that the Sierra EV can add more than 250 km of range in around 15 minutes using a compatible fast charger. The SUV also supports V2V and V2L charging, allowing it to charge another vehicle or power external devices. With bookings already open and deliveries scheduled to begin from July 15, the Tata Sierra EV is positioned as a strong challenger in India\u2019s growing electric SUV market, competing with models such as the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara.
