The house-to-house enumeration exercise starts on June 30 and will continue till July 29, with Booth Level Officers visiting voters to distribute and collect enumeration forms as part of the voter list verification process. Shivakumar urged every eligible citizen to take the exercise seriously, saying that the right to vote is not just a political right but directly linked to identity, citizenship and access to government welfare schemes. He warned that if a person loses their voting right due to missing or incorrect details in the electoral roll, they may also face problems in receiving government benefits. Referring to developments in other States, he said verification drives are increasingly being linked with welfare databases, making it important for people to ensure that their voter records remain accurate and updated. The Chief Minister also asked party workers and local representatives to help citizens complete the process properly so that no genuine voter is left out. The Special Intensive Revision has become politically important in Karnataka because voter list accuracy often becomes a major issue before elections, with parties raising concerns over duplicate entries, missing names and wrongful deletions. While the Election Commission has said the exercise is meant to update and purify electoral rolls, Shivakumar\u2019s warning has added urgency to the process by connecting it with everyday welfare access. For Karnataka residents, the message is clear: check your name, cooperate with enumeration officials, submit the required details and avoid waiting until the last moment, because an error in the voter list could create bigger problems later.<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has issued a strong appeal to citizens as the Election Commission begins the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls across the State, warning that people who fail to verify their names on the voter list could face serious difficulties in the future.
